Deskjet Review

My uncle is trying to connect all of our laptops to his wireless Deskjet printer but when I go to add printer, in the list of drivers and whatnot, the deskjet series that he has will not show up in the listing. I clicked Windows update and still nothing. Is there a way around this or a way to add the printer where it will connect to the laptop without doing this? He downloaded the driver and software already from the HP website but it wants to do this again within the control panel, if I’m describing that correctly. Any tips?

Yes and it’s not as hard as it sounds.

Just go to the printer’s website and look for a link to the manufacturer’s drivers. Locate the specific model and download that driver software to a flash drive or some portable media. Just used that media to load the drivers onto your laptop.

I just bought a new HP printer (Deskjet Ink Advantage 2010 – K010a). My CD drive isn’t working, so I was thinking, is there a downloadable installer for my printer? Please provide specific details. Thanks!

P.S. My computer has Windows 7 Home Premium, 32-bit.

you can download the installer from the hp website, all you have to do is type it into google, although if you are not bothered by all the extra useless features that they throw into the program and all you want to do is print, then you should be able to just connect the printer to your computer and it will work. Windows has many printer drivers preinstalled.

Okay, right now i have a Deskjet2360 and it doesn’t come on the list when i tried to add my printer on to the computer so my printer could be reconzied. How do i add the Deskjet D2360 printer so it could be reconized on the computer? The printer Deskjet is NOT on the list to add the printer from the control panel. So, if anybody could answer this question, 30 POINTS!! PLZ HELP ME!! FULL ANSWERS!

WinXP does not have the model listed in its available drivers in its installer, so you either use the CD provided with the printer or download a driver from the HP website.

I have an hp deskjet 3840 printer, and the old software doesn’t work with windows vista. I need to know is there anyway that I can get something that will work?

I am trying to find the download for the HP 882C Deskjet printer. I am running WIN98. I have tried the HP website and nothing is coming up except for an uninstaller. This is my mothers computer. I know that it is an older computer but it works for her. Please let me know where I can find the software and updated drivers. Thank you in advance!

Try going to hp’s website and downloading the software for your computer. If that doesn’t work you might be able to have them send you a new software disk

I have a CD that says HP DeskJet 840C and the printer says DeskJet 842C. Will this make a difference? Please explain in very simple terms. Thank you.

The same driver will work for both printers. The following page, from the HP website, tells you this about the differences between the DeskJet 840c and the DeskJet 842c printers.

"The HP Deskjet 840C and the HP Deskjet 842C printers both have the same basic printing features and functions. The HP Deskjet 840C printer, however, is directed at the worldwide channel, and the HP Deskjet 842C printer is directed at the retail channel in the U.S. and Canada only."
