How to make printer print full black text?

April 18th, 2013 2 comments

Printer is HP deskjet 3500. Only black ink cartridge (c8727) is installed. I want to print a PDF where the text is medium gray. When it prints the text is too light to read. How can I get the printer to print the text as black so I can read it? Computer is a Dell 3000 with XP home.

Unless you can edit the PDF and change the font colour you can’t.

What is wrong with my HP Deskjet 1320 printer?

The printer has recently been re-installed with drivers downloaded off the internet, and the ink has just been replaced. However, nothing will print. When we go to print a test page, it shoot outs a blank piece of paper. Every now and then a document will print, but won’t print again on the second attempt. It’s an HP Deskjet 1320 printer plugged into the computer with a USB cable. What do we do?

Was the ink you put in new ink? Or had you had it for awhile? Sometimes older ink you haven’t used will be affected by moisture, so if this is the case, go buy new cartridges. You can also try unplugging anything connecting the computer and printer, and the shutting your computer down, plugging everything back in, and restarting your computer. Try opening the front cover of the printer and making sure the ink cartridges roll out so you can see them in the middle of your printer. Print a page while you have it open and make sure that they are moving. If none of this works, call a specialist.

HP printer 5850 prints a test print automatically after each print command is executed!?

I have HP5850 deskjet printer that worked without any problems till I recently changed the black cartridge. It prints without any prompts a "test page" with heavy bars each time after a normal file is printed. Could some one please help fix this annoying and paper/ ink wasting phenomenon? I checked the various tabs under "print properties" for any unusual settings. Didn’t notice any unusual settings. Thanks lot for the help.

This will fix that problem for you

Please follow exactly and IN ORDER.

1. Turn off the printer and wait 10 seconds. Turn it on again

2. Let the printer print the test page.

3. After the test page is printed, disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer to your computer. DO NOT turn off the printer while disconnecting the USB cable.

4. Place the test page on the scanner glass and press the SCAN button on the printer. The ON light will flash as the page is being scanned.

5. Remove the test page when the ON light is steady.

6. Finally, turn off the printer and wait another 10 seconds. Then turn it on again. No more printing test pages! Yay!

(You may now reconnect the printer to your computer via the USB cable.)

Can a hp deskjet printer print stuff from a laptop?

June 12th, 2012 3 comments

There was a hp deskjet printer at Walmart on sale and I only have a laptop. Are they able to print things from the laptop?

Most likely Yes. Most, if not all printers have a USB port for connection anymore, so that’s not really the big issue that others seem to think it is. The biggest concern you have to be aware of is if it’s compatible with the operating system you’re using. I.E. if you have Windows 7 or a Mac OS, you need to make sure that the printer has drivers that properly support the operating system that your computer is using, otherwise it will not work or you’ll have to figure out a work-around to try to get it to work correctly.
